Life is like Coffee !!

A group of alumni, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaintsabout stress in work and life.

Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said: "If you noticed, all the nice-looking, expensive cups were taken up, leavingbehind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups.""Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality ofLife does not change."

"Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it."So folks, don't let the cups drive you...enjoy the coffee instead.

PUT THE GLASS DOWN TODAY!

When you leave the work place today,Study this small story, hope that makes a BIG change in you.

Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it.
He held it up for all to see & asked the students,' How much do you think
this glass weighs?'

'50gms!' .... '100gms!' .....'125gms' ..the students answered.

'I really don't know unless I weigh it,' said the professor, 'but, my
question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few
minutes?'

'Nothing' the students said.

'Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the professor
asked.

'Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the student

You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?'

'Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis &
have to go to hospital for sure!' ventured another student & all the students laughed.

'Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?‘ asked the professor.
'No'

Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?' The students were
puzzled.

'Put the glass down!' said one of the students

'Exactly!' said the professor.' Life's problems are something like this.
Hold it for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK. Think of them for a
long time & they begin to ache. Hold it even longer & they Begin to
paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything.

It's important to think of the challenges (problems) in your life, but EVEN
MORE IMPORTANT to 'put them down' at the end of every day before you go to
sleep. That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh &
strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!'

So, When you leave office today,
Remember friend to
'PUT THE GLASS DOWN TODAY! '

Never Never Never Give Up

One day I decided to quit... I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life.

I went to the forest to have one last talk with God.

"God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"His answer surprised me...
"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

God replies - When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

"In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.

In the fourth year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. "I would not quit." He said.

"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth.

Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant... But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall.It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.

I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."He said to me.

"Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been Struggling, you have actually been growing roots.""I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you.

"Don't compare yourself to others." He said. "The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern ... Yet, they both make the forest beautiful."Your time will come, "God said to me. " You will rise high!

"How high should I rise?" I asked.

How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return."As high as it can?" I questioned."Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."I left the forest and bring back this story.

I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you. He will never give up on you. Never regret a day in your life. Good days give you happinessBad days give you experiences;both are essential to life.

A happy and meaningful life requires our continuous input and creativity. It does not happen by chance. It happens because of our choices and actions. And each day we are given new opportunities to choose and act and, in doing so, we create our own unique journey." Keep going...

Happiness keeps you Sweet,

Trials keep you Strong,

Sorrows keep you Human,

Failures keep you humble,

Success keeps You Glowing,

but Only God keeps You Going!
